New Shipbuilding

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is developing and building India’s first indigenous hydrogen-fuelled electric vessels at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), kickstarting the country’s efforts towards green shipping.​Hydrogen fuel cells can be used in a wide range of applications, including transportation, materials handling, stationery, and portable and emergency backup power applications. Fuel cells operating on hydrogen fuel are an efficient, environment-friendly, zero emission, direct current (DC) power source already applied to heavy-duty bus, truck and train applications, and are now under development for marine applications.​At Marquase Offshore, having worked on multiple projects involving hydrogen fuel cell-powered vessels, are well equipped to provide technical expertise on new shipbuilding using this revolutionary technology.
